November 14, 2025 —Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department reported that members participated in a joint training session last night at Teterboro Airport alongside the Port Authority’s Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) unit. The exercise focused on water relay operations and hose deployments in an airport environment.
According to the department, the training provided firefighters with exposure to aviation-oriented response considerations, including large-area water supply movement, coordinated hose line operation, and interoperability with specialized airport fire units. Members practiced relay setups and flow management while reinforcing communication and teamwork.
The Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department expressed appreciation to the Port Authority ARFF unit for hosting the session and noted that collaborative training enhances operational readiness for incidents both within the borough and in mutual-aid settings.
