October 28, 2025 — Full Hackensack Fire Department reported that Engine 5, Rescue 1, and Deputy 4 responded to River Street near All American Ford and Aldi’s for a motor vehicle accident involving downed power lines. Upon arrival, firefighters secured the scene and confirmed that live wires were present, prompting the closure of all lanes to ensure public safety.
According to the department, PSE&G crews arrived to de-energize and repair the damaged utility infrastructure while firefighters remained on scene to maintain safety and assist as needed. No injuries were immediately reported.
The Hackensack Fire Department reminded motorists to use caution and avoid the area until utility work was completed and the roadway was reopened.
