Dumont Fire Department announced that it is now accepting applications for its Fire Auxiliary Program, designed for young community members between the ages of 16 and 18 who are interested in exploring the fire service. The program provides participants with opportunities to learn firefighting basics and safety practices, ride along on fire apparatus, and assist—within defined limits—at emergency scenes.
According to the department, the structured curriculum helps prospective firefighters build foundational knowledge, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and gain exposure to emergency operations prior to attending the Fire Academy. The initiative aims to prepare motivated youth for future service while strengthening community involvement.
