October 3, 2025 —East Rutherford Fire Department reported that just after 5:00 p.m. this evening, crews were dispatched to Union Street for a reported vehicle fire. Firefighters arrived within minutes and located a vehicle actively burning.
According to the department, crews rapidly deployed a hoseline and extinguished the fire before it could spread or cause additional hazards. No injuries or further incidents were reported, and units cleared the scene shortly after.
The East Rutherford Fire Department credited the swift response and coordinated efforts of its members for safely bringing the situation under control.
