Quick Response Clears Fire Alarm on Penn Street

Highspire, Pa. — November 16 —Crews from Citizens’ Fire Company #1 of Highspire and Swatara Township responded to a fire alarm on Penn Street reported to be caused by unattended cooking. First-arriving units confirmed light smoke conditions with no active fire. A ventilation check was completed, and the situation was found to be contained to the kitchen area.

After verifying there were no hazards or extension, firefighters reset the alarm system and cleared the residence. All units were expected to become available shortly following the response.
