Dauphin, PA — November 1 — Units from the Dauphin – Middle Paxton Fire Company were dispatched this evening to Route 22/322 westbound for a natural cover fire. Crews arrived to find a tree that had fallen across power lines, causing brush along the shoulder to ignite. The apparatus was set up for roadway safety, while firefighters deployed handlines to prevent the fire from spreading further into the tree line. The utility company was requested to secure the downed line before final suppression could take place.

No injuries were reported, and fire damage was limited to the brush and the downed tree. Lane restrictions were in effect during operations, and traffic remained slow through the scene. The response wrapped up once the area was cooled and checked for hotspots, a reminder of the seasonal rise in roadside vegetation fires seen across central Pennsylvania during early November.
