One Resident Transported After Laurel Drive Structure Fire

Penn Hills, Pa. — November 1 — Shortly before noon Saturday, Truck 227 was sent for a first-alarm residential structure fire in the 1300 block of Laurel Drive. The first arriving units reported smoke and flames coming from the back of the house, with reports of possible entrapment. Engine 302 established a water supply, while Truck 227 was entrusted with primary and secondary searches.
As fire conditions worsened, command escalated the incident to a second alarm, summoning in additional companies to assist with suppression and ventilation. The fire was brought under control within an hour. One resident was sent to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, and two firefighters were assessed on the scene. The incident was under the leadership of 302 Chief.
