(OCALA, FL.) Nov. 18, 2023 – On Saturday, November 18th, at 7:27 a.m., Ocala Fire Rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire at Volkswagen of Ocala, 5135 SW College Rd. Engines 1, 4, and 6, Tower 1, Rescue 4, and Battalion Chiefs 11 and 22 responded.

Engine 6 was first on the scene, arriving to find a commercial building with flames showing from a window on what appeared to be the top level. The sprinkler system was active.

Engine 6 began attacking the fire from the interior. Tower 1 laddered the building to ensure no fire extension to the roof, and Engine 4 started ventilation. Engine 1 assisted with fireground operations.

The fire was extinguished, containing damages to the room of origin. 

No injuries were reported.  

The cause of the fire is under investigation. 

The Ocala Police Department and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded.
