Working Shed Fire With Exposures

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

At 1546 hours on June 28th, 2025, the Midway Fire District was dispatched to the 5800 block of Government Drive for reports of a residential structure fire. The 911 caller reported a shed ablaze, located in close proximity to an adjoining home. Battalion Chief 35 arrived first on scene and confirmed a working fire with exposures. Engine 37’s crew quickly stretched a hose line and initiated fire attack. Meanwhile, Holley-Navarre Engine 41 deployed an additional line to protect the exposed residence. The fire’s intensity was significant—enough to melt plastic siding on the nearby home and ignite the side of a mobile home nearby due to radiant heat. The Midway Fire District Fire Inspector was requested to determine the fire’s cause and origin. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Units on Scene:

Midway: Engine 37, Engine 35, Truck 36, Battalion 35, Fire Marshal 35.

Holley-Navarre: Engine 41, Battalion 40 and Lifeguard EMS.
