Penn Hills, Pa. — October 20 — Station 227 logged a busy Monday, responding to six calls across the township. The day began with two commercial fire alarms on Eastgate Drive and Lincoln Road, followed by a motor vehicle accident with entrapment on Robinson Boulevard. Crews later handled another commercial alarm on Penn Pleasant Drive, investigated smoke from a structure on Bittersweet Drive, and stood by for a garage fire at Station 153. Volunteers staffed each call, providing timely coverage throughout the afternoon and evening.
The department praised its members' continuous dedication and encouraged interested citizens to apply for the Live-In, Bunk-In, Junior Firefighter, and Home Response programs. The FIREVEST program provides eligible volunteers with free college tuition as well as county and township tax benefits.
