Former Station 57 Fire Chief Frank Yonkin and Wife Bonnie Killed in Tragic Crash in Albany Township

Dushore, PA - The community is mourning the loss of former Station 57 Fire Chief Frank Yonkin and his wife, Bonnie, who passed away as the result of a motor vehicle accident on February 24 in Albany Township.


At 15: 43 hours on February 24, Station 57 and Station 8 were dispatched to a serious crash near the intersection of Route 220 and Harney Road in Albany Township. Station 8, Ambulance 1-57, Rescue 57, Station 58, and Chief 57 responded to the scene. Upon arrival, crews found a passenger vehicle involved in a head-on collision with a tri-axle dump truck. Tragically, the two occupants of the passenger vehicle succumbed to their injuries.


Chief Yonkin was remembered as a dedicated leader, mentor, friend, and veteran who devoted countless years of service to the Dushore Fire Company and the community he cared so deeply about. Bonnie was known as a steadfast supporter of the department and a valued member of the fire family.


Their passing marks a tremendous loss for the department and the wider community. The Yonkin family, department members, and all those affected remain in the thoughts and prayers of many during this incredibly difficult time.
