ADAMS, NY — At 8:41 p.m. on Saturday, November 8th, the Adams Fire Department and South Jefferson Rescue Squad were dispatched by the Jefferson County 911 Center to Interstate 81 Northbound at Exit 41 in the Village of Adams for a multi-vehicle rollover traffic incident with injuries.
Crews arrived to find multiple vehicles involved, including one vehicle in the median that appeared to have rolled over several times. Two occupants were trapped inside that vehicle, and other vehicles were blocking the northbound lanes. Interstate 81 Northbound was closed for nearly two hours.
An additional Advanced Life Support ambulance and a Life Net helicopter were requested to the scene. Crews successfully extricated the two occupants from the overturned vehicle. One patient was transported by ambulance, and the other was transported via Life Net to a hospital in Syracuse.
According to reports, a motor home towing another vehicle entered the northbound entrance ramp, then turned left, heading south in the northbound lane, and collided with a northbound vehicle in the passing lane.
