East Windsor, N.J. — November 4 —At 3:20 a.m., the East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 responded. a tractor-trailer fire on Lake Drive after dispatch reports indicated that numerous trucks were involved. Chief 46 escalated the situation to a first-alarm building assignment. Engine 46 extended attack lines, while Chiefs 41 and 42 confirmed no inside extension but a serious smoke situation. Ladder 41 established a master stream fed by E46, while Engine 48 hand-stretched around 400 feet of LDH.
Tankers and water-supply units supported operations, and mutual-aid companies assisted with access to tractor bays. Diesel leaks required DEP notification, and West Windsor Engine 45 handled hazmat needs. The incident was placed under control by early morning, with units clearing around 7:30 a.m. The scene was turned over to local and county investigators.
