East Windsor, N.J. — October 21 — East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 and other mutual-aid partners responded late Tuesday night to a home fire in the 100 block of Cedarville Road. The assignment was sent out around 10:30 p.m. Deputy 41 came first and reported considerable smoke, resulting in an all-hands call. Chief 46 took leadership when Engine 46 and Ladder 41 arrived together and stretched hoselines for an interior attack. Chief 42 was tasked for operations. With no hydrants in the area, a tanker task force was requested on the initial dispatch, and Assistant 82 established water supply using a rural hitch to Engine 46.

Crews suppressed fire on the first and second floors while Tower 42 conducted primary searches, all of which were negative. Relief crews rotated through the manpower pool to complete overhaul and ventilation. As conditions improved, mutual-aid companies were released in stages. The scene was turned over to East Windsor Police Department and the East Windsor Township Fire Official’s Office for investigation. Station 46 units cleared and returned to service at 2:00 a.m. EWVFC2 thanked all responding and standby agencies for their support throughout the incident.
