Power Secured After Driver Trapped Under Downed Lines in West Amwell

West Amwell, N.J. — November 15 — At 12:25 p.m., the West Amwell Fire Company responded to a complaint of live wires down on George Washington Road involving an occupied vehicle. Chief 26 (Ent), Battalion 26 (Siwy), and Engine 26 (Lt. Buck) arrived to discover one individual trapped inside the car but unharmed, with electrical cables crossing it. West Amwell Township Police made phone contact with the occupant and urged them to stay inside until the incident could be secured.

JCP&L was notified and arrived within 45 minutes to secure the power, allowing first responders to assist the occupant safely. With high winds affecting the area throughout the afternoon, officials urged residents to use caution around trees and overhead lines.
