Firefighters respond to reported gas explosion

Fall River, Ma. On Saturday November 15th at 4:30 pm. firefighters responded to a still alarm at 166 Mott Street for a reported fire on the second floor. While enroute firefighters were notified of a possible gas explosion. Engine 4 arrived on scene to a three story wood frame with fire showing on division two. The structure was located behind another three decker which required a long lay of the leader lines. The crew of Engine 4 located fire and attempted extinguishment. They knocked down the fire several times only to have it continue to reignite again and again. Command called for the Gas Company on a push to secure the natural gas utilities. As soon as the gas was secured the fire was completely extinguished.
