Avondale, Pa. — November 6 — Avondale Fire Company conducted joint training with Hockessin Fire Company – Station 19, focusing on Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) operations. RIT teams are specially trained and equipped to rescue firefighters who may become trapped, injured, or lost inside a structure during an incident.
The session included practical drills to improve coordination, communication, and rescue techniques under realistic conditions. Avondale crews appreciated the opportunity to work with Hockessin and continue building skills that support firefighter safety
