Port Royal, Pa. — November 7 — In Turbett Township, Friendship Fire Company No. 1 helped Pennsylvania State Police with a search for a missing person. With the assistance of volunteers driving their own ATVs, Utility 1, Brush 1, and UTV 1 started inspecting back roads, fields, and wooded areas. To broaden the search grid, foot crews were deployed by Mifflintown Hose Company and Thompson town Volunteer Fire Company.
K-9 units and a thermal imaging chopper were used by State Police. While the Newport Fire Department and City Hook & Ladder conducted a boat search of the Juniata River, drone teams from North Middleton Fire Company in Cumberland County and New Berlin Fire Company in Union County offered overhead support. On the ground, the Pennsylvania Game Commission also provided assistance.
