Garage Fire Contained Before Spreading to Home in Dunstable

DUNSTABLE, MA - Dunstable firefighters received a call for a building fire in the early morning on November 9th. While en route C8 transmitted the Working Fire, bringing in mutual aid to the scene and to cover. Engine 1 arrived on scene and reported heavy fire showing from an attached garage. Engine 1 stretched a one-and-three-quarter inch hand line and began knocking down the heavy fire in the garage and then entered the residence to cut off the fire spread into the house. Mutual aid arrived on scene and assisted with water supply, ventilation and overhaul. Crews remained on scene for several hours checking for hot spots and overhauling. Mutual aid from Nashua, Tyngsborough, Westford, Hollis, Pepperell, and Groton came to town.
