Stewartstown, PA - Firefighters and emergency medical personnel from the Eureka Volunteer Fire Department (Station 54) and mutual aid partners responded to a reported residential structure fire Monday morning on Fulton Avenue in Stewartstown Borough, York County.

Emergency dispatches were transmitted at 8:48 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2026, for a dwelling fire inside a one-story, single-family home along Fulton Avenue. Demonstrating an immediate turnout, Chief 54-1 and Ambulance 54 went en route within sixty seconds of the initial tone.

Ambulance 54 arrived first on the scene, reporting nothing visible from the building's exterior. Chief 54-1 arrived moments later and assumed command, completing an in-person briefing with the initial EMS crew. Responders confirmed that the homeowner had successfully knocked down and extinguished the fire before the arrival of emergency apparatus.

With the main body of fire mitigated, command scaled back incoming mutual aid units and held Rescue 54 to conduct secondary operations. Firefighters performed an extensive check for hidden thermal extension into wall cavities and structural framing, confirming the fire had not breached or spread into adjoining portions of the residence. Operating personnel cleared the scene in approximately 20 minutes without reported injuries.
