Lisbon, CT — November 4 — On Wednesday, at approximately 4:45 p.m., the Lisbon Fire Department dispatched personnel to Route 169 in response to a reported vehicle fire. Upon its arrival at the scene just two minutes after dispatch, Engine Tank 154 (ET-154) encountered an active fire burning within the engine compartment of the vehicle. Responders immediately established a hoseline and initiated suppression operations to combat the blaze.

Following the initial deployment, crews intensified their efforts to contain the blaze within the engine compartment and avert further propagation. Subsequently, Tanker 154 arrived on the scene, furnishing an augmented water supply to bolster the ongoing firefighting operations.

The blaze was ultimately brought under control by the firefighters, and the incident occurred without any reported injuries. Traffic on Route 169 was halted for roughly half an hour to allow crews to execute their operations and finalize their tasks, resulting in a brief disruption for motorists before the roadway was fully reopened.

Based in Lisbon, Connecticut, the Lisbon Fire Department maintained its operations from a station located at 45 Newent Road.

Among its fleet, Engine 154 was documented as a 2001 Peterbilt 357, outfitted with a 775-gallon water tank and a pump capable of delivering 1,500 gallons per minute. The prompt arrival of ET-154, coupled with supplementary water delivered by Tanker 154, enabled the crew to resolve the incident safely with no reported injuries.
