North Merrick, N.Y. — October 12 — The North Merrick Fire Department responded to an overturned vehicle on the eastbound Southern State Parkway on Sunday. After exiting the road, the car went up an embankment, passed the guardrail, and stopped on Meadowbrook Road. When the crews arrived, they asked for mutual aid to help with scene support and patient care.
After being assessed for non-life-threatening injuries, three of the four patients were taken to nearby hospitals. For their help, the department thanked the Nassau County Police Emergency Ambulance Bureau and Bellmore-Merrick Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
