Findley Lake, N.Y. — November 2 — At approximately 3:51 a.m. on Monday, the Findley Lake Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on Main Street. Witnesses reported that the driver had fled the scene on foot prior to the department’s arrival. When crews arrived, they discovered significant damage to the surrounding property and along the road. To lower the risk to the public, firefighters secured the car, looked for fire hazards, and finished a preliminary cleanup. For safety, the area was then taped off.

The New York State Police and the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office came to help. Around six in the morning, a Chautauqua County K-9 found the driver. Thankfully, there were no reported serious injuries.
