Cattaraugus Reservation, N.Y. — October 18 — The Cattaraugus Indian Reservation Volunteer Fire Department conducted live burn training using the department’s burn trailer along with a ground maze designed to simulate hallways and tight interior turns. The drill allowed firefighters to work on hose advancement, communication, and coordinated fire attack techniques under realistic, smoke-filled conditions.

Members of CIRVFD Fire/Rescue and Lawtons Fire Department joined in to provide a helping hand throughout the training. Guest instructors also assisted, offering guidance and sharing experience to support skill development across all participating crews. The department noted that cooperation like this strengthens readiness for real emergency responses.
