Hempstead Firefighters Contain Morrell Street House Fire

HEMPSTEAD, NY - The Hempstead Volunteer Fire Department responded to a house fire on Morrell Street, October 16th, where crews arrived to find heavy fire showing from the upper floor of the residence. Engine and ladder companies advanced lines, opened up the structure, and worked to stop extension into the attic. All occupants were accounted for, and there were no reported injuries to residents or firefighters. Mutual-aid companies provided assistance and coverage while operations took place. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
