Norwalk Firefighters Honored for Forbell Drive Rescue

Norwalk, Conn. — October 22—Two members of the Norwalk Fire Department were honored this week at the Connecticut Exchange Club’s annual Firefighter of the Year Awards. Captain Mark Franzen and Firefighter Colin Curran received recognition for their heroic actions during a 2024 house fire on Forbell Drive, where they successfully rescued trapped occupants from the burning home.
The pair were recognized for their quick actions and teamwork during the incident, which exemplified the professionalism and dedication of Norwalk’s firefighters.
