Burtonsville, Md. — October 23 — Members of the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department, along with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel, completed about 80 hours of specialized Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) training for Truck 715 — the department’s tractor-drawn aerial ladder truck that entered service earlier this year.

After classroom and practical instruction, operators must complete at least 12 hours of non-emergency drive time and 10 emergency responses in both the tractor and tiller positions before full qualification. Last week, Chief Ryman became the first BVFD driver to complete the full certification process, with additional members currently progressing through the program.
