October 1, 2025 — Shortly after 10:22 p.m. Tuesday night, the Baldwinsville Volunteer Fire Company and several automatic aid partners were dispatched to a working house fire after reports of a garage engulfed in flames.
Upon arrival, Car 4 (Assistant Chief Belczak), Car 3 (Assistant Chief O’Kelly), and Car 1 (District Chief McIntyre) found heavy fire extending from an attached garage and declared a Signal 99 (working fire).
Engine 11 (Capt. Roser) performed a forward lay in a non-hydranted area, initiating an interior attack while RP3 (Lt. Delia) established a draft site, split crews for operations, and advanced a second hoseline to the second floor. AC Belczak assumed command, with AC O’Kelly supervising Division 1 and DC Laakso from Liverpool Fire Department managing Division 2.
Engine 21 (Capt. Harper) and crews from multiple mutual aid departments — including Lakeside, Liverpool, Fairmount, Jordan, Belgium Cold Springs, Camillus, and Warners-Memphis — assisted with searches, ventilation, water supply, and fire suppression efforts.
Rapid Intervention Teams were provided by Solvay Fire Department and Moyers Corners Fire Department, while Plainville, Jordan, Cato, Cody, Elbridge, and Warners-Memphis supplied tankers for water operations.
Coverage during the incident was maintained by Phoenix Enterprise Fire Company #1, Moyers Corners, and Taunton Fire Department. Greater Baldwinsville Ambulance Corps provided medical standby, and the Onondaga County Department of
Emergency Management investigated the cause and origin of the fire.
All companies were back in service by 3:30 a.m., concluding a well-coordinated overnight response.
