Ellington, N.Y.—October 5— The Ellington Fire Department, based at 769 West Main Street, joined multiple departments early Saturday morning in a coordinated effort to contain a fire at the Chautauqua County Landfill. The initial call came in at 3:37 a.m., prompting a county-wide mutual aid response led by the Sinclairville Fire Company, which served as Incident Command.

Firefighters from Ellington, Ashville, Cassadaga, Ellery Center, Falconer, Fluvanna, Gerry, and Stockton Fire Departments worked together to establish an effective water supply operation. A tanker shuttle system was activated with a fill site at Den Adelsman’s Klub to ensure a continuous water flow to the fire area.
