October 17, 2025 - On Friday, members of the Arlington Fire District visited Todd Middle School to speak with students in the AVID program — a college and career readiness course designed to help young teens build essential skills for success.

The group of 15 students is at a pivotal stage in their lives as they begin to shape their identities and future goals. Through AVID, they are developing leadership, perseverance, prioritization, and decision-making skills — qualities that strongly align with those practiced in the fire service every day.

During the visit, Arlington Fire District members shared their experiences, answered students’ questions, and encouraged them to continue working hard toward their aspirations. The district expressed appreciation to the staff and students of Todd Middle School for the opportunity to connect and inspire the next generation of leaders.
