East Meredith Fire Participates in County-Wide Brush Fire Drill at Delhi Fire Department

October 05, 2025 - The East Meredith Fire Department took part in a county-wide training drill held at the Delhi Fire Department this morning. The department was invited to bring equipment used for large-scale grass and brush fires.


During the event, participating fire departments showcased and described the tools and apparatus they rely on in such emergencies. The lineup included mini pumpers, pickups with slide-in skid units, trailers carrying hand tools, and UTVs equipped for off-road firefighting. Various configurations were displayed, allowing departments to exchange ideas and discuss effective strategies, including demonstrations of both slide-in and custom-built units.


Delaware County Emergency Services presented its newest addition, a tracked Argo vehicle, while the New York State Police showcased a UTV and two operational drones, offering demonstrations and explanations of their capabilities.


East Meredith Fire Department extended appreciation to Delhi Fire Chief Tim Murray for organizing the drill and to the Delhi Fire Department for providing lunch and hosting the event.
