Chautauqua, N.Y.—October 20— The Chautauqua Fire Department, located at 2 Royal Way, responded Friday to a structure fire on Manor Drive after flames from a garage spread to an attached home and surrounding trees.

Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire extending upward, prompting both interior and exterior operations. A draft site was established at the Prendergast boat launch, where firefighters set up a portable pond to maintain a continuous water supply through tanker shuttles. Fire police managed road closures, ensuring safe access for all responding units.
