Bemus Point, N.Y.—October 29— The Bemus Point Fire Department, located at 13 Alburtus Avenue, continues to emphasize the importance of dry hydrant training and maintenance—an essential part of firefighting in rural communities without pressurized water systems.
Dry hydrants allow firefighters to draw water from static sources such as lakes, ponds, and streams. Routine drills help members master pump priming, ensure system integrity, and maintain reliable access to these critical resources during emergencies.
