Genoa, NY — October 11 — Genoa Volunteer Fire Department joined other Battalion 5 departments at Emily Howland Elementary School on the SCCS campus for Fire Safety Day during Fire Prevention Week.
Firefighters shared basic safety lessons, demonstrated equipment, and encouraged students to learn how to prevent fires at home. The program gave children a hands-on experience and a chance to meet their local first responders.
Events like these help build community trust and inspire future volunteers while emphasizing that fire safety education starts early.
