Crews Remain on Scene at Phillips Angelica Forest Products

Angelica, N.Y. — October 12 —At Phillips Angelica Forest Products on Closser Avenue, a sizable mulch fire was fought through the night by Angelica Fire and Rescue personnel, several mutual-aid fire companies, and MTS Ambulance. At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, 140 tractor-trailer loads of wood mulch were involved in the fire. To contain and monitor hot spots, crews stayed on the scene until the wee hours of the morning, with operations continuing past 2:00 a.m.
Mutual-aid partners were thanked for their prolonged efforts in managing the massive outdoor fire, and no injuries were reported.
