Pittsburgh, PA - Volunteer firefighters from the Berkeley Hills Fire Company made quick work of an early morning structure fire on Friday, containing and extinguishing a blaze in a detached garage before flames could threaten neighboring exposures.
Emergency units were alerted on the morning of Friday, October 9, 2026, for a reported structure fire assigned to Box 252-004 in Ross Township. Responding as the first-due suppression piece, Berkeley Hills Engine 247 arrived promptly on scene to find active fire involving a detached residential outbuilding.
The crew immediately secured an attack line and initiated an aggressive exterior and interior knock down, pouring water directly onto the seat of the fire to halt thermal spread through the frame of the garage. Responders successfully snuffed out the flames and completed mop-up operations, protecting the surrounding property from secondary damage.
