Barnstable, MA - In celebration of Fire Prevention Week 2025, members of the Barnstable Fire Department, in partnership with the West Barnstable Fire Department, visited the Cape Symphony Preschool on two occasions to teach children essential fire safety lessons. The visits gave students an opportunity to explore firefighters’ gear, learn about fire trucks, and understand how to stay safe in an emergency.

The departments also hosted a special Fire Prevention Story Time at Sturgis Library, which drew an enthusiastic crowd of young readers and their families.

The departments extended their gratitude to all the teachers, parents, and community members who contributed to the success of these events. Together, the Barnstable community continues to help its youngest residents “Charge into Fire Safety™” and develop lifelong fire safety habits.
