Wyckoff, NJ - Personnel and apparatus from the Wyckoff Volunteer Fire Department mobilized on mutual aid Saturday afternoon to support local fire crews battling an escalated residential structure fire in Upper Saddle River.

The specialized mutual aid response occurred during the afternoon hours of Saturday, October 3, 2026, when a second-alarm assignment was transmitted due to deteriorating fire and smoke conditions inside a residential dwelling. In response to the regional call for secondary truck resources, Wyckoff dispatched Truck 241 to the emergency scene.

Upon arrival, the crew of Truck 241 integrated directly into the fireground assignment, taking on vital ladder company duties focused on strategic structural ventilation.

Firefighters opened up horizontal and vertical flow paths to clear dense, toxic smoke and superheated thermal gases trapped within the residence, relieving interior pressure and significantly improving visibility and operating conditions for ongoing fire suppression teams.

The multi-agency turnout highlights the critical interoperability maintained across Bergen County fire departments, ensuring heavy aerial assets and trained truck company personnel are rapidly positioned to assist neighboring communities during large-scale working fires.
