October 22, 2025 - Station 50 was dispatched to provide mutual aid to the Hastings Fire Department for a structure fire at the Cambrian Hills Golf Course. Reports indicated that the cart barn was fully involved. Upon arrival, 55DC found the fire had already progressed through the roof. Crews from RE55, ET50, and TW50 initiated an aggressive exterior attack, quickly knocking down the bulk of the fire before transitioning to overhaul operations. Station 50 personnel remained on scene for approximately an hour and thirty minutes before being dispatched to the next alarm.
While still on scene at the golf course, dispatch alerted 50C to another structure fire in Northern Cambria Borough. ET50, TW50, and RE50 responded immediately and arrived within five minutes. Dispatch advised that the homeowner was trapped inside the residence and that the front porch appeared to be on fire. Upon arrival, RE50’s crew quickly entered the structure and successfully removed the occupant within minutes. TW50’s crew investigated and located hot spots while another homeowner used a garden hose to keep the fire under control. 50C declared the incident under control within ten minutes.
Shortly after clearing the house fire, 50C was notified of wires down in the Allport section of Susquehanna Township. Upon arrival, 50C determined that a guidewire had broken from a utility pole and requested Penelec to respond.
In total, Station 50 operated with 28 personnel throughout the evening. Excellent work was demonstrated by all crews involved.
