September 28, 2025 - At approximately 7:32 a.m., the South Fire Department (SFD) was dispatched to Manalapan Road near Bruning Lane following a single-vehicle crash that brought down a utility pole onto the vehicle, which subsequently caught fire.
Deputy 71 and Rescue Engine 71-1 responded to the scene and confirmed that all occupants had safely exited the vehicle. The pole fire had self-extinguished before crews arrived, and firefighters waited for JCP&L to cut power to the downed wires.
Once the area was de-energized, SFD crews assisted with debris cleanup. Manalapan Road remained closed during the utility repair work. Fire department members were on scene for approximately two hours.
