Piscataway, NJ - On 01 October at approximately 12:19 p.m., the River Road Fire Company was dispatched to Centennial Avenue for a gas line struck during construction. Truck 56, Engine 52, and Utility 58 responded to the scene.
Truck 56 arrived first due and established command, deploying a 1¾-inch protection line as a precautionary measure. Engine 52 and a Holmes Marshall Engine each prepared separate hydrants and stood by for support. Utility 58 assisted in closing Centennial Avenue to traffic to ensure public safety.
Fire crews conducted thorough investigations in and around 151 and 140 Centennial Avenue to confirm that conditions were safe for all occupants. Personnel remained on scene for approximately two hours until PSE&G determined the gas leak was under control and posed no further hazard to the public.
