October 22, 2025 — At approximately 12:46 a.m., the Franklin Park Fire Department (FPFD), along with mutual aid from Griggstown Fire (Station 35), was dispatched to Lindsey Court for a reported dumpster fire.

While en route, Car 31 was advised by Franklin Township Police Department (FTPD) patrol units already on scene that the fire was beginning to extend to the surrounding dumpster enclosure. Upon arrival, Chief 31 established command and reported that the enclosure was fully involved, with exposure concerns to multiple nearby vehicles.

Squad 31 arrived with a crew of six and stretched a 1¾-inch crosslay line to initiate extinguishment. The four-member crew from Truck 31, working alongside personnel from Engine 35, joined in suppression and overhaul efforts to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.

The Franklin Township Bureau of Fire Prevention responded to the scene and has assumed responsibility for the investigation. The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.

All FPFD units cleared the scene and returned to quarters by approximately 2:00 a.m.

The Franklin Park Fire Department continues to encourage community members to get involved — volunteers are always needed. Interested residents can apply in person at the firehouse on Monday nights from 7:00–9:00 p.m.
