October 16, 2025 — Members of the Hopatcong Fire Department participated in a valuable extrication presentation and training session led by Genesis Rescue Systems (GRS).
The GRS instructors provided an in-depth overview of the various hydraulic and battery-operated extrication tools used in rescue operations, followed by a live hands-on vehicle demonstration. Firefighters practiced techniques for safely and efficiently removing trapped occupants from vehicles — critical skills for responding to serious motor vehicle accidents.
This type of training is essential for maintaining readiness and confidence during real-world emergencies. It allows firefighters to build muscle memory, understand tool capabilities, and refine teamwork under simulated conditions.
The department expressed its gratitude to the Genesis Rescue Systems team for their time, instruction, and expertise in supporting firefighter training and safety.
Those interested in becoming part of the Hopatcong Fire Department family are encouraged to visit the firehouse on Thursday nights or Sunday mornings to learn more about volunteer opportunities.
