Catawissa Fire Company Honors Students for Helping at Bus Crash

Catawissa, Pa. — October 8 — The Catawissa Fire Company recognized Southern Columbia High School students Lillian Hinkle and Grayson Reck for their quick actions during a school bus crash in September. The students helped their classmates by opening emergency hatches and assisting with a safe evacuation before first responders arrived.
The recognition took place with representatives from Elysburg Fire Department, Valley Chemical Fire Company, Overlook Fire Company Station 290, Locust Township Police Department, Southern Columbia High School administration, and Pennsylvania Deputy Fire Commissioner Harvey Boyer in attendance.
