Lamar Township, Pa. — October 8 — The Nittany Valley Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. hosted about 30 Pre-K students from the Lock Haven YMCA as part of Fire Prevention Week. Firefighters gave the children a tour of the station, showed them the apparatus, and talked about basic fire safety and emergency awareness.
Students learned how firefighters respond to emergencies, the role of smoke alarms, and why practicing home escape plans is important. The Goodwill Hose Company Ambulance Association also participated, bringing an ambulance for the children to explore and learn about emergency medical care.
