Noxen, Pa. — October 6 — Firefighters from several departments, including the Northmoreland Township Volunteer Fire Company, the Harveys Lake Fire & Ambulance Company, and the Hanover Township Fire Department, joined the Noxen Volunteer Fire Company for a 40-hour Common Passenger Vehicle Rescue Class on October 6th. Advanced extrication skills, stabilization methods, and patient removal from passenger cars were the main topics of the rigorous program. Weeks of cooperative training aimed at improving technical rescue capabilities across departments culminated in the final session.
The department thanked Simon's Junkyard and Eli's Towing and Recovery for providing vehicles used during hands-on practice, Bucks County Instructors for their knowledge, and Station 140 for providing extra rescue equipment. Now, a number of firefighters in the area are getting ready for the Awareness, Operations, and Technician certification tests offered by IFSAC/Pro-Board.
