Bruin, Pa. — October 15 — The Bruin Volunteer Fire Department wrapped up another Wednesday night drill with Grit Fire Training, focusing on vertical ventilation using Chicora’s ladder and tower familiarization with Emlenton’s unit.
The session helped firefighters strengthen mutual aid coordination and stay proficient with different apparatus, ensuring safe and efficient operations during extended or short-staffed incidents.
Instructors Eric Darr of Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire Ladder 17 and Connor Wright of DC Fire Rescue 3 led the training, bringing valuable insight and experience. The department thanked Penreco for providing space to stage equipment and supporting local training efforts.
