PORT JERVIS, NY -- Maghogomock Hook & Ladder Co. No. 1, like other companies in Port Jervis Fire Department, holds various fundraiser events throughout each year to raise needed funds for company expenses. The all-volunteer department and members of each PJFD company are very active throughout each year. Besides responding to emergency calls of all types, participating in local parades and events, and joining in neighboring community events, they take on a wide range of projects regularly. The most recent, a roast beef dinner takeout held on Saturday, October 18, is one event that nearly always sells out -- as it did again this year. This dedicated crew prepared and served 240 full-course takeout roast beef dinners, complete with onion soup accompaniment. Best of all were the comments received by their patrons. Many of those who arrived to pick up their dinners said they look forward to ordering these delicious dinners for their family each time the dinner is hosted. Great job, Maghogomock Hook & Ladder Co.
