October 13, 2025 — Firefighters from the Monmouth Beach Fire Department, along with officers from the Monmouth Beach Police Department, assisted several stranded motorists on Monday as heavy rain and coastal flooding from a nor’easter swept through the area.

As floodwaters rose across low-lying roadways, emergency crews worked to safely reach and aid those trapped in vehicles. The department reminded residents that flood conditions can change rapidly and that even shallow water can create hazardous currents.

Officials urged the public to follow the rule: “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.” Drivers encountering water-covered roads should avoid attempting to cross and instead seek alternate routes.

Throughout the storm, Monmouth Beach firefighters remained on standby at the Beach Road firehouse to ensure a rapid response to any emergencies within the community.

The department thanked residents for their cooperation and urged continued caution as weather conditions remain unpredictable.
