Whiting, N.J. — October 5 — Whiting Fire Company Station 33 responded to an odor investigation involving a suspected gas leak. Assistant Chief 3310, 2nd Assistant Chief 3320, Engine 3301, and Engine 3311 arrived quickly and confirmed a propane leak.
The two-engine response allowed crews to secure the source before it became a larger hazard. The department reminds residents that if they smell gas, they should evacuate immediately, call 911, and avoid using electrical devices until the area is declared safe.
